ADELAIDE
 Kingston Gardens

Wirranendi
This area of land to the north of the West Terrace Cemetery, includes the West Terrace Playground and Kingston Gardens. Bounded by Sir Donald Bradman Drive, West Terrace and the West Terrace Cemetery, this area is identified in the Park Lands Management Strategy as a mixture of natural and cultural landscapes. To the north of the West Terrace Cemetery is a series of ponding basins which form a water retention system. These have been constructed to mitigate flooding problems caused by water from the City draining out across the railway lines and Mile End to the west. Adelaide Cricket Club is a licence holder in this Park. The construction of the ponding basins in the early 1990’s resulted in a large re-landscaping exercise of what was previously a series of old dump sites.
